[One month after her 'victory' against Ninetails, Moro is in much better shape. She isn't roaming close to the village lately, however - any snowfall is remarkably free of her giant pawprints. But for those that venture into the forest, the prints in the snow or dirt are almost always fresh - she has been roaming nearly nonstop since she recovered.

Today, one may find Moro comfortably perched near the lake, looking over the wildlife that came to the water. There's been no effort to hide herself, despite her smell of old, caked blood still a bit fresh from the shoulder wound that Ninetails had inflicted, and the numerous other scars. She was still a bit tender, after all, and those were vulnerable spots. But, as is her way, she's stubborn and confident to the end.

And honestly, for those who want to talk to her, she's looking very content and very peaceful. She'll probably be willing to have a civil conversation! (Gasp!)]

[Vash doesn't mind! One step at a time!] Yeah. The planet I live on is a desert planet, but there are a few spots where people have managed to grow small forests. So eventually it will get better. [Okay, so they really only managed that with the help of Geo-Plants, but Vash doesn't want to get into explaining those.]

Without gods, how will these forests survive?

With a lot of work and love? How did the gods come to be in the first place? [He's really curious about that.]

The Forest Spirit has always lived. Ever since life came to be, his presence was felt. Some say that his body changes as life does, some say that he chooses a new body when life takes a turn. When the moon rises, his true appearance becomes clear...

It is told that when the beasts became large enough to harm the forests, the Forest Spirit created Gods to protect it.

Then maybe now that life is starting to grow on my planet the Forest Spirit will become stronger and then new Gods will be created.

Will your humans feel threatened, when the gods ascend to a higher rank than they? The gods are superior to mankind. Surely they cannot take such a painful truth? That they are not favored?

[He knows someone else who thinks like that. That the Plants should be treated like Gods.] Why must they ascend to a higher level? Why not co-exist with humans? Wouldn't it be nicer if we could treat each other equally and enjoy being with each other?

Are the ones who maintain order amongst you humans the very same rank as those who murder for glee? No wonder you are all so corrupt.

Well, no, everyone has their jobs, but that doesn't make them any better than anyone else. Every life is important.

Life is important, yes. All lives are the same - they are taken and given by the forest spirit. But the roles that the beings serve... that is where equality cannot thrive universally.

Why not? I think there can be equality.

[biteoffherhead]

Humans are pack animals. A functioning pack has those in charge and those who follow. The ideal pack has the leader working to guide its packmates.

My own pack... I hold the highest rank, followed by my daughter and then by my sons. We are not 'equal' in that sense.

But we are all wolves. And our pride is all the same - we all work as a single pack, not as a group of wolves. Superiority is necessary to guide the meeker in the right direction.

Well, isn't it true that sometimes others need to step forward to take a turn leading. Maybe they just have a better understanding of a situation to help. With each person taking their turn leading and following, doesn't that make us all equal?

[biteoffherhead]

Leadership goes to those suited for it. A coward or a bold fool will lead the pack to death.

Perhaps there is a place for multiple leaders for humans. They do not only hunt. They also search for food, and grow it. They were once willing to speak to one another to negotiate land ownership. A human could be skilled with one but not all of those situations.

Humans are complicated. And this is why the gods reign stronger than they.

I'm not sure I have any idea what my muse is saying anymore. He's such a silly man.

[Vash sighs. That wasn't the right thing to say obviously.] But just because someone is wiser or stronger than another, why does that make them superior? True that makes it so they should be listened to and followed, but that doesn't make them any better than the people who listen to them. After all, a leader has nothing without their followers.

They are better than others because of their skills.
