[As is her usual routine, Moro is roaming through the village. The strange part, however, is that it's the middle of the day at the moment, and those wolf tracks you might see every morning appear at night.

She's showing no sign of aggression, simply roaming about... but that can't be right. Feel free to approach her and interrogate a reason for stalking the villagers out of her. Just mind her temper.]

[Stomps her foot like kids are wont to do, and the earth under it shatters in a mini-earthquake.]

You're a fool to think that I would trust a human for a single moment.

[Besides, it's not like it's easy for someone Toph's size to get up close and personal with a GIANT PREDATOR, no matter how badass that Toph-sized person may be!]

The spirits have no qualm working to your will. You could do a great deal if you were fast enough.

Of course, you would still die.

[Okay, she's torn between being somewhat complimented by a giant, badass wolf about being possibly badass enough to take down aforementioned wolf, and being told she would die. She begs to differ. But probably not right now. Getting into fights with a giant wolf spirit = bad idea. Remember Zhao.] I guess that's right, fine.

[Deflates.]

I wouldn't say the spirits are totally qualmless. Ever since I got here, it's been a lot harder to bend. The earth just doesn't feel right.

My head will still bite if cut from my body.

...The spirits are weak here.

Spirits are weak? Is it because the humans here are doing what you said and trying to kill them?

[Toph is just really unnerved by that happening. Nothing good happens if you mess around with stuff like that. And why would anyone do that? What was wrong with people? Maybe there's a war over here about that, too. Only no Avatar.] Or are the Malnosso jerks who kidnapped the rest of us here doing it?

No. Unlike the immortal spirits, I breed so my slot is filled rather than being completely immune to such a thing. It makes my fangs that much deadlier to be a solid being.

Within my forest, the humans are destroying the forest so they can get iron from the soil. They kill the gods to continue their selfish, destructive behavior. But they will learn the hard way. Once the head of the Forest Spirit is cut off, all will die.

[Moro pauses at mention of the Malnosso, though ever briefly.]

No. This world is simply weaker.

[Toph is frowning at all of that. It sounds like something went really badly in the wolf spirit's world, but the Avatar there should be keeping the balance. The Forest Spirit sounded like he was in a lot of trouble. And destroying a forest just to get some iron? Wasteful. But since they couldn't bend, maybe they were that much messier with their digging and tunneling. They sounded like the worst of the Fire Nation in the war.

All of this heavy, spirit, death talk is making Toph depressed about her world. Especially since it sounds like what could have happened if Aang hadn't showed up. She shakes her head.] That sounds wrong. Isn't anyone stopping them? The Avatar there should be keeping balance- if you still have one. He's supposed to make sure that the human world and the spirit world stay all balanced! Did they get him, too?

...You said the Avatar was the spirit of the earth? The earth has no body in our world. Life, however, does, and he takes the body of an almighty god.

The humans are obligated to bow to the gods and respect the spirits as their brethren. Their role is giving offerings to the gods or simply paying tribute to them, the gods who lay their lives on the line to slaughter demons to protect them.

And now they turn their guns against us, and the gods have had to turn against humans and slaughter them to protect the forests.

[And she's done. She's gone. There is officially nothing good to say about this world and anything bad she can say about it is all coming out as: "WHAT IS THIS MADNESS" and "MADNESS? THIS IS FIRE NATION" and "That sucks. It sucks a lot."]

That's just..that sounds like a nightmare. [All out spirit world warfare? Sounds like hell on earth.] And it's all because some stupid people want iron? That's...[Toph's twelve year-old vocabulary doesn't fit the bill for anything this bad, so she grabs some macho man wrestler talk]...shit.

They rip apart our forests for the iron. They seek to cut off the head of the Forest Spirit because they believe bathing in his blood will cure illness and grant immortality.

The fools hardly realize that should they do just that, everything will die.

Well- they can't though, right? Won't he just take their lives away before they do it?

Their guns will reach him before he them.

Those guns sound like bad news.

Imagine a beast that spews fire and iron balls so ferociously that it rips your flesh apart. Imagine one of the bullets it fires shooting at me from a great distance, and burrowing to the bottom of my ribcage, where it remains and rattles the bones it broke.

For a human, however... that bullet would likely rip a human body in half.

[Toph closes her eyes and just focuses on feeling the metal nearby. And sure enough, there it is, lodged in the ribcage of the giant wolf spirit. Toph could call it to her from here, but the attempt at help was pretty harshly denied. She can't see the broken bones or anything around the metal, but the ball itself is large enough to make her snap her eyes back open with a grimace.]

That's sick! It sounds like something Ozai would come up with. Or, like, an evil version of Teo's dad.

The woman Eboshi created that vile creation. I fought long and hard to kill her myself... the best I could do was take her arm, after the Forest Spirit granted me death in my world.

What...so you're dead now?

No. The Malnosso brought me back to life.

Pity they didn't see fit to remove the bullet from my chest while they had me bound with chains and cut open to explore my insides, isn't it?

[See, this is Toph trying to say something, but just coming up with a wordless, horrified silence.]

Ah, still but a child...

Is that what they do to people here? [Yeah, you've officially scared Toph. Being dragged off in chains and cut open alive was never something she's ever been potentially faced with. She probably looks a little paler than usual, and her fists are clenching reflexively.]

I suppose it may be different for every victim of the Malnosso. But I broke my fangs trying to rip them to pieces, so I suppose they never saw fit to knock me unconscious to do their experimenting.

[Yeah, if a giant wolf forest spirit has trouble escaping these people, then Toph isn't going to stand a chance against them if they ever go after her. So, we have a skittish Toph here. Who is most likely not sleeping tonight.] Oh. I'm, uh. Sorry to hear that.

Well, it's been nice talking to you. I...have somewhere to go now. [Yeah. Like AS FAR DOWN IN THE DIRT AS SHE GAN GET. Toph claps her hands together once and sinks right into the soil, and it closes over her head as she disappears. It looks undisturbed once she's disappeared underneath it.]
