[As is her usual routine, Moro is roaming through the village. The strange part, however, is that it's the middle of the day at the moment, and those wolf tracks you might see every morning appear at night.

She's showing no sign of aggression, simply roaming about... but that can't be right. Feel free to approach her and interrogate a reason for stalking the villagers out of her. Just mind her temper.]

Imagine a beast that spews fire and iron balls so ferociously that it rips your flesh apart. Imagine one of the bullets it fires shooting at me from a great distance, and burrowing to the bottom of my ribcage, where it remains and rattles the bones it broke.

For a human, however... that bullet would likely rip a human body in half.

[Toph closes her eyes and just focuses on feeling the metal nearby. And sure enough, there it is, lodged in the ribcage of the giant wolf spirit. Toph could call it to her from here, but the attempt at help was pretty harshly denied. She can't see the broken bones or anything around the metal, but the ball itself is large enough to make her snap her eyes back open with a grimace.]

That's sick! It sounds like something Ozai would come up with. Or, like, an evil version of Teo's dad.

The woman Eboshi created that vile creation. I fought long and hard to kill her myself... the best I could do was take her arm, after the Forest Spirit granted me death in my world.

Is that what they do to people here? [Yeah, you've officially scared Toph. Being dragged off in chains and cut open alive was never something she's ever been potentially faced with. She probably looks a little paler than usual, and her fists are clenching reflexively.]

I suppose it may be different for every victim of the Malnosso. But I broke my fangs trying to rip them to pieces, so I suppose they never saw fit to knock me unconscious to do their experimenting.

[Yeah, if a giant wolf forest spirit has trouble escaping these people, then Toph isn't going to stand a chance against them if they ever go after her. So, we have a skittish Toph here. Who is most likely not sleeping tonight.] Oh. I'm, uh. Sorry to hear that.

Well, it's been nice talking to you. I...have somewhere to go now. [Yeah. Like AS FAR DOWN IN THE DIRT AS SHE GAN GET. Toph claps her hands together once and sinks right into the soil, and it closes over her head as she disappears. It looks undisturbed once she's disappeared underneath it.]

But no chocolate allowed.

[Toph pops her head out of the ground and props two arms up like she's leaning on a table. The rest of her body is still underground, which she seems totally comfortable with.]

Well, the rest of my 'pack' didn't come here with me. And they don't have any badgermoles here. At least, I don't feel any. They tunnel close enough near the surface for me to feel them. Well. There is a tunnel, but it doesn't feel like one of theirs.

But chocolate + dogs = no. XD

[She gets some resistance at first when Toph instinctively bends herself in tighter, but she loosens up when she realizes that Moro is not trying to make herself a tasty Toph snack. Yet. Still, have a nice cry of surprise as she pops out of the warm, comforting dirt.]

Pff. And here we have how Toph became her replacement pup.

[Annnd Toph succumbs to her fate gracefully, because this wolf is touchy and if she's decided to take Toph home, she's not going to bring wolfie rage down on her head by talking some more, and also because she is so used to this. There's just something about Toph that makes giant, spiritual animals want to pick her up and take her home.]

Slap on some iron bars and kevlar and we have a perfect analogy.

[It's a loooong walk to the village from her cave, but at the very least, some good massive leaps scaling up the mountain seem to shorten the distance.

Eventually you get sat down in the depths of the cave.]

I will guide you to the village again in the morning so you can find your way to and fro yourself. Since I'm certain you are blind.

[It's kind of a relief to have her feet touch stone again. And not any stone. Almost warm stone. Caves are happy, glorious things. They're really close to tunnels, only much bigger and stronger due to the whole 'built in solid stone' deal. Ahh, caves. She gets a feel for the cave in general as she sits there, hand on the rock.]

Thanks. And yes- definitely blind. In my eyes, anyway.

Hmmhmm. You have five other senses. The boar god Okkoto has been blind for years and slaughtered just as many humans as before. His sense of smell and hearing are all the same.

[Moro pads over to the section of the cave where a layer of soil covers the rock, laying down contently there.]

A single sense lost is only a weakness for the pitiful and stupid.

Being blind has never kept me from being what I am. [She shrugs, a little unhappily.] Some people don't understand that. I'm the greatest earthbender in the world, but to my parents I'm still just their helpless little daughter. The badgermoles are blind, too, and they're the best earthbenders. They're the ones who taught humans to use earthbending, a long long time ago. Taught me, too, when I was really little.

Sight is a convenience, but not a necessity. Why humans rely on it, I'll never understand - vision can be fooled or taken away easily. My sense of smell is only obscured in the thickest of burning smokes intended to serve that purpose, and my ears have never failed me.

I don't truly need to see my prey to wrap my jaws around it.

[Regardless, she pauses to reflect on Toph's story.]

[Toph smiles, that's exactly how she feels about sight.] Exactly! And it only works when it's light out, or if there isn't anything in the way.

They just tried to protect me too much, but they didn't understand that I don't need their protection. That I can take care of myself. I'm not really mad at them anymore, but I wish my dad and mom could understand me better.

I would not count on humans to realize their wrongs.

Even the birth parents of my human daughter called slander when I took their child under my wing instead of killing her.

[Honestly, the fact that she has a human daughter is kind of shocking, seeing how negative Moro is on humans. She doesn't think she'd have killed her, though, since Moro's 'I have no need to kill a child' line was sincere enough.] ...Did they want you to kill her? [Bad parents are one thing, parents who would want their kid dead is something else.]
