[From the moment that the newcomers entered the village, coming from the South when she was towards the North, Moro showed many more signs of severe territoriality. The trees have layers of bark clawed into, pawprints are stomped into the ground, fur is shed, and various gory or gruesome little marks all around the village.

Moro herself is persistently circling the whole village, firmly policing who is going in and out. It takes her a long time to go around, as she walks carefully to try and not miss anything, but where she does catch someone, she leaves them be only if she recognize them as Lucetian. Any newbies may have a little issue, but if you can convince Moro that you're really from Luceti, it'll be easy to leave.


But Lucetians will note that Moro is incredibly violent and aggressive towards the visitors. She snaps at them long before speaking to them, chases them until they retreat into the village, and some come so close that they come back with ripped shirts, some torn out feathers, and one hell of an adrenaline rush.

As the power goes out, some undoubtedly attempt to cut the trees for firewood... and those do get more seriously attacked. Or don't come back - perhaps they make it deeper into the woods, but it's also likely that Moro kills and possibly eats them. But never a Lucetian - she leads them to dry, dead wood, so that the trees are spared.

She was behaving so well! Feel free to come and ask her what's got her so murderous, catch her in the act of attacking some hapless newcomer trying to cut wood, or if your character only just came to Luceti recently, get mistaken for a newcomer.]

My friends and family. Their friends and family. I wouldn't just be hurting one person.

You protect what matters to you.

And other people. And the thirty foot radius of space that gets burnt to a crisp thanks to a couple of sentences.

I care not for the consequences others suffer as I protect what I hold dear.

A human life weighs no more to me than the life of a tree, or an animal. The consequences they feel are no more or less than the consequences humans feel.

I do not care for these humans that have arrived. And given the choice, I will not choose even the humans I have fondness and tolerance of over the forest. I am a forest god.

And I'm pretty sure that's the attitude newcomers think we all have, so they think both the village and the forest have the same amount of danger as a result. ...I'm not gonna give you some lecture on peace like baldy, either. I just don't like seeing people get hurt if they don't need to.

But who am I to tell you what to do or think? I'm just some human.

And I do not enjoy seeing too many trees cut to be casually burned, or for humans to stockpile, just in case.

You are. But at least you are an interesting sort of fool. Were you as any other human, I would have grown tired of your challenges and simply snapped you in half and be done with you.

[For a second, he mulls it over. Moro usually has reserves of dead, fallen branches, doesn't she? ...But... Is she saving that for the people from Luceti?]

...You're looking out for us. [In the most roundabout way, but... He can't deny that.]

[The grin disappears from her face, and she frowns, for a bit. She looks over the forest again, as she speaks.]

...The humans that live here have come to an understanding with me. They know what to take, and they plant every time they cut a tree. Their hunting is not out of sport or boredom. What they take from the forest is not meaningless.

These intruders don't understand that agreement. They would cut a tree instead of forage for fallen branches. They would kill four deer and toss away chunks of meat instead of cleaning everything off of the bones.

They will not come to an understanding before they are gone.

[He doesn't entirely agree with her, nor does she agree with her methods. ...But he nods. Her intentions are in the right place. Besides, she's right. Not everyone will come to an understanding of how important this forest is- both in general and to Moro in particular- before they're sent home. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter.

He nods. Okay, he can accept that. Even if he doesn't like it.]

Inform them that they will have life and limb spared so long as they stay out of my territory. If humans wish to care for them instead of simply kill them to preserve themselves, then those who know my forest are the only ones permitted to enter. Those who do not follow this rule will die.

[Moro chuckles, grinning again.]

May you bite with more commitment when you next fight.

[...Nod. But for now, he needs to head back to the pokecampsite. He bows his head down as if saying thank you before trying to make his way past Moro.]
