[Action - Whole Event]

[From the moment that the newcomers entered the village, coming from the South when she was towards the North, Moro showed many more signs of severe territoriality. The trees have layers of bark clawed into, pawprints are stomped into the ground, fur is shed, and various gory or gruesome little marks all around the village.

Moro herself is persistently circling the whole village, firmly policing who is going in and out. It takes her a long time to go around, as she walks carefully to try and not miss anything, but where she does catch someone, she leaves them be only if she recognize them as Lucetian. Any newbies may have a little issue, but if you can convince Moro that you're really from Luceti, it'll be easy to leave.

But Lucetians will note that Moro is incredibly violent and aggressive towards the visitors. She snaps at them long before speaking to them, chases them until they retreat into the village, and some come so close that they come back with ripped shirts, some torn out feathers, and one hell of an adrenaline rush.

As the power goes out, some undoubtedly attempt to cut the trees for firewood... and those do get more seriously attacked. Or don't come back - perhaps they make it deeper into the woods, but it's also likely that Moro kills and possibly eats them. But never a Lucetian - she leads them to dry, dead wood, so that the trees are spared.

She was behaving so well! Feel free to come and ask her what's got her so murderous, catch her in the act of attacking some hapless newcomer trying to cut wood, or if your character only just came to Luceti recently, get mistaken for a newcomer.]

((OOC: Specify date in your subject header; she'll be active from the 26th to the 31st. Here is a permissions post if you decide a fight might happen!))

So you've appointed yourself judge of who eats and who starves?

The forest will recover. We do not take any more than we must.

[He's not happy with the situation, but the possibility of food riots weighs heavily on him. The Kin'corans are already so angry and resentful...]

[Wonderful. Neji pauses, considers, and then speaks in a low tone.]

Then, will you permit me to take not for the village supplies, but only enough to feed myself and my kin?

[With a nod toward the girl. Surely just for the two of them...]
screw_fate: (I swear Neji's a boy)

Understood.

[Neji knows how to live lean, and he'll teach Minami. Although he wonders if Moro intends to track him through the entire hunt...]

I am a forest dweller by birth. We understand what nature will and will not provide.

[Neji urges Minami quickly onward, and the two ninja vanish into the forest, light on their feet and swift.

It will be a few hours later when they return, Neji carrying an admittedly very modest catch, both of them running lightly along the forest floor.]

[The girl with Neji gives a strangled gasp as Moro pursues the other; she has to stop herself from trying to run forward to help. Moro herself is a pretty good deterrent; sure, the ninja world sees creatures of her size, but she's still nothing to sneeze at.

Neji, on the other hand... well, he was carrying the catch openly, but with the Kin'coran there, he's not interested in being spied with food. So his fingers are raised in a simple gesture, and now it appears he's carrying nothing at all. Moro's nose will tell her exactly what he has, but no one without a keener-than-human sense of smell will be able to catch it.]
