[Hello, one and all! It's time to meet your friendly neighborhood giant wolf god!

...Except literally, it seems. Her body language is very relaxed, and she's not sulking around trying not to be seen. She seems rather comfortable with her surroundings - even that of the village! Then again, that shouldn't be so strange to most of you, right? She's a fairly neutral guardian spirit, after all!

But Moro does seem to be at least somewhat curious about things. Scents are... off. She smells slightly of a human? Her den is so far from the village. Small things, tiny things, that have her curious. But you all know you can approach and talk to her, right? ...Right?]

((OOC: Basically, in the "AU", humans haven't been gigantic assholes so Moro is a pretty chill bro. And a good conversational piece. HAVE AT?))

MOROOOOOOOOOO!

[You might be getting a boy with a giant wooden mallet looking at you while hanging upside down from a tree Moro. This is Caveman/Jungle!Luffy! He doesn't have any known relatives (besides a foster brother) and has spent most of his life in the jungle and/or caves being raised by animals sup.]

[So, let's play make-up-AU-canon-on-the-spot, y/y? 8Da

Busy shunning most people as a child, Ginko would have spent most of his time in your woods. Being large, not human, silver-white and clearly a Part of Nature, he would have taken to you very quickly. As his job is to teach students about your flora and fauna, not to mention how to treat them, you continue to see quite a bit of him, too...]

[Hey, it's his favorite friendly neighborhood giant wolf god. Good to see ya, Moro.

Giles notes Moro's discomfort as he spots her sniffing around at the edge of the plaza, and decides to carefully approach. Carefully - wouldn't want to shake her off whatever trail she's found.]

Something wrong?

...I just noticed that icon moves. It's kinda creepy.

Well, there was the shift this morning. Everyone's scent might have gotten, um, shifted.

[When you're an eccentric researcher, heir to part of the magitechnology corporations of Luceti while seemingly squandering your wealth on science projects and working as a teacher for the decidedly-sentimental-but-not-very-businesslike-at-all reason of wanting to educate people, you tend to have a lot of unpleasant rumours following you around, which naturally makes you reluctant to associate with other people, especially other humans.

Which is why Robert spends so much of his free time - that is, whatever time he isn't spending at his other two jobs - in the woods. So he's seen Moro many times before as he whiles time away here, researching the flora and fauna, always being respectful with the wilderness in the way any good scientist should be. Or at least, the scientists his family had always taught him about.

Still, he doesn't want to be a bother to one of the few people - not human, but people, as Moro is still very much a person - who doesn't have any preconceived notions about him, who doesn't subscribe to all the rumours - true or not - and who doesn't resent his presence or find him a frightening eccentric.]

... Ah, Moro... I don't suppose you were affected by the strange Shift recently, were you? I seem to be one of the few that wasn't...

But the forest is alright, I hope.

[The scents are wrong? Robert would trust Moro's sense of smell over his any day, and so the fact he hasn't noticed anything doesn't strike him as particularly odd.]

Wrong in what sense? Scattered-seeming, perhaps?

It seems as if other peoples' homes are in strange places, so the Shift may not have simply been moving people - it may have moved their homes as well.

Such an unfortunate coincidence, really.

Not so much as they were. Everyone woke up some place strange this morning-- or nearly everyone.

[Waving excitedly from where he was getting ready to put the flower stand for the fair.]

Hey there, Moro! How's the forest this morning?

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
The whole den, huh? [a faint grin] San said she woke up in there, this morning. [you know, his truant cousin San, on whom he has been a bad, school-shirking influence since a tender age]

...the scents?

[conciliatory, nodding] Well, the shifts don't always follow much rhyme or reason.
